Okay... what a week!

Tuesday Makenzie started getting a little bit fussier than normal... that continued to Wed and to Thursday. I should have known something was up when my Wed nights sleep only lasted a few hours. Makenzie was definitely out of sorts, and we're still not 100% sure what was going on. She ate just fine, but had a lot of trouble keeping much down. The dr said that there is a tummy bug going on right now... maybe that was it? Or something I ate? Who knows. But she seems to be doing a lot better today! She is much happier! And so am I!!!

What an emotional day. When you know your baby doesn't feel good and there is nothing you can do except cuddle! I stunk... BAD...didn't get my shower until after 3, got puked on multiple times, the baby never left my arms, didn't eat until 4:30 when Matt got home... Motherhood. Love it!!

Right now she is taking a nap. She hasn't had a good afternoon nap all week long. Yay yay yay!! I should be catching up on housework now, but what is the fun in that? It's Friday afternoon and my motivation isn't here! KT and Steph came down today to watch Makenzie while I ran to Aldi's and Meijers. Let me just say... I LOVE ALDI'S! What good deals they have man o man. I came home and my kitchen was clean. Dishes were all put away, sink and counter were clean! Love you girls!!

Okay I jinxed myself! Makenzie is screaming! At least she slept for a little while! :0)

Makenzie's First Day at the Mall!!

Oh... and we have made it out of a house for more than an hour or so!!! We headed off to Kalamazoo's mall Friday to help Lindsay shop for a prom dress!! It felt SO good to be walking around and people watching! My legs have been dying to get outside and walk or play in the snow!! But I have a little snowball that keeps me inside :0)

Mom and Lindz came down Friday morning and helped get Makenzie ready for the day! We got her all bundled up in Auntie Lindsay's old snowsuit that she wore when she was a baby! Mom made us all some great grilled cheese and we headed off!



This was the first time that we have used the stroller!! I absolutely love it!! Strollers always annoy me because the wheels are weird and never go the direction I want them to go! My wheels are good!! :0)

We first went to send my wedding ring in to get that puppy resized!! I have been unable to wear it since August... and it still doesn't fit... it will soon. Then we headed off for the dresses. Oh my goodness I can't believe how many Lindz tried on! A ton!!!!

Makenzie was great and loved being pushed around in her "carriage" (as one lady called it!). We had a hard time getting thru JC Penny without being stopped by all the ladies there to sneak a peak! Then we snuck into a fitting room so Makenzie could have her lunch! What a day! I didn't realize how tired I would be. While dinner was in the oven Makenzie and I cuddled up on the couch exhausted. Then Ruger had to join the cuddles too. What a fun day tho!!

Rude awakening here.... Makenzie decided to sneeze right in my face!!

After we ate, we tried giving Makenzie her bottle, which she didn't want anything to do with... then put her to bed! She didn't wake up until 5:30 in the morning!!!! Then went back to sleep by 6 and slept until 9:30!!!

Maybe we should make the mall trips a weekly event!?!?

Cleaning Day?!?!

Okay I have my camera working again temp!! I was able to pull up some pics from Dad's Birthday Dinner!! So here they are!! I should have gotten a pic of Auntie KT changing her :0) I wasn't there to see it but Makenzie was giving her a run for her money!!!

I finished the cookie making last night... it's amazing how little a batch it actually made. Really it made the same as normal, but when I started baking them Matt came home from lunch and took some back to work with him. I munched on them all afternoon... so by time dinner was done there wasn't much left. :0( All that work to be gone just like that!!! Hmmm...

Today is cleaning day!! Possibly. Just after I got out of the shower she spit up all over me and her! I had her in her crib and she ended up moving from the center of the crib to leaning up against the railing, in a pile of spit up!!! So... we will try to KEEP clean now and clean other things... but no guarantee here!

We played with Grandma Sally's toy for a bit....

Then Story time, which lead right into nap time... on the floor!!!

I suppose I should get cleaning!

1 Month Already!

Wow... Everyone told me once you have kids time will fly. I believed it.... I just didn't realize how quickly it does actually go! Last Thursday Makenzie was one month old! Holy Cow! Matt stayed home the first two weeks after she was born and now he is on his third week back at work. And Makenzie and I our on our third week being home together!

What fun it has been!! As usual we have good days and bad days... these past two days have been great!! Sunday and Monday she slept like it was nobody's business!

She's kind of following suit today... except she wants to eat every hour and a half!! So inbetween our feedings we have been working on making some chocolate chip cookies... it's dangerous having that task spread out over a day (you really end up eating a lot!).

Last week Friday Makenzie and I headed out to lunch with the girls from work to celebrate Pat's birthday! We headed over to a great little Chinese place in Mattawan. Boy what a fiasco it was to get there. After completely blowing out her diaper, bath time was inevitable! Off to the bathroom we go. By time I get her back to the changing table she is shooting poo at me! In the end we ended up clean, dressed, and at Chinn Chinns! :0) On a postitive note... at least she got the pooing done BEFORE we were in a crowded restaurant with people trying to eat their lunch!!

I got stuck in Target for awhile last week because of Makenzie. (This is one of those things that no one warned me about! I wasn't prepared for this!) I'm looking at some clothes, Makenzie is in her car seat sleeping. All of a sudden I hear the most horrible grunting noises coming from her! These were not cute little baby noises at all! So I start walking away from where there were people.... I didn't want anyone to ask what I actually had in the car seat! Not sure if they would believe that it was cute little innocent Makenzie. Next thing I know she's tooting... squirty toots!! LOUD TOOTS!! I was totally ready to go, but there was no way I could have taken her thru the checkout lane at that point. So after dodging people until the bowel movement was over we quietly left the store! Until we get to the car and as I am putting her carseat in I hear the cart rolling away. I turn just in time to see it smash into the front of the silver sports car I was parked by. OMG. Honestly I don't remember what I did after that. I don't remember if I got the cart or high tailed it out of there!?!?

One thing that we did know about having kids was that even tho they are strapped into something you still need to watch them! I was dinking around the house while Makenzie was in her bouncy seat! Brian and Mandi were on their way down to hang out for the evening! I walked by the living room and could see her little giraffe feet hanging out. I smiled thinking how stinking cute that outfit is to have little giraffe heads on her feet and it looked really cute sticking out from the blanket! I cross by the living room again looking at them and head to the bedroom. By time I got to the bedroom I was thinking that I swore I had her feet all snuggled in the blanket too... so I head back out there and walk over to the bouncy seat and all I see looking down is this blanket surrounding her and a little brown patch of hair on her head! The top of her head and her giraffe feet were all I could see!! For some reason the bottom had busted out of the bouncy seat sending her down to the ground. Blanket stayed in place tho! Her face is right behind the flower! :0) I laughed so hard!!! And she didn't make a peep!! That diaper must have been nice and cushy! This is her face after I uncovered her!

We have another exciting weekend coming up! This past weekend we celebrated Dad's birthday with some wonderful ribs, potatoes, and cake!! (There was other food, but those were my favs!) Makenzie played on the floor with Grandma Anne and Auntie Lindsay, who also read her a book! I have some cute pics of that... BUT my camera isn't working again.

This Friday we are heading out to the mall with Grandma and Lindsay to help prom dress shopping. It will be Makenzie's first time in her stroller for a walk! I'm excited to go walk and people watch! Then on Sunday we are having a family dinner at Grandma Sally and Grandpa Tom's!

What a Surprise!!

So I was just reading over my last post... funny the first question I asked was now that we have scheduled to be induced will she come?? Hours after I posted that we were on our way to the hospital!! Funny how things work out!

Here's a quick summary of what happened after the last post...

9:00 PM Went to bed- had contractions all day 5-10 mins apart... I was tired!
9:10 Contraction!!! OMG the pain! Haven't had that much pain with the others!
11:00 Got out of bed to walk around and get ready to go!
12:00 AM At gas station calling Dr! Contractions 3-4 mins apart.
1:00 Arrived at Zeeland Hospital. Contractions 3 mins apart.
3:00 Contractions 1-2 mins apart... hopped in jacuzzi tub!
4:30 EPIDURAL!!!! And Pitocin!!!
6:30 Water broke

This is when we thought we would start
progressing at a cm an hour....
so a baby by 9-10!!
5CM!!

More and more and more pitocin

2:30 PM More pain meds and more pitocin! 9 CM 100% thinned
3:00 Start pushing...

And 19 hours later....
4:07 Makenzie Marie was born!! 8 lbs 19" long! Thank God she is out!!!! I was totally over the whole labor thing! :0)

We left the hospital that Saturday... then headed over to Grandma and Grandpa's to pick up Ruger and head home!

On that next Monday, Dec 20th we had her first dr's appt! What fun. She was back up to 7lb 12 oz (when she left the hospital she was at 7lb 9oz)! We had them look into a bump we found on her back and ended up having to go in for an ultrasound to see what that was all about! Scary waiting for the radiologist to look over the ultrasound along with the tech! All is well tho. It is called hemangeoma. Which is a cluster of unused blood vessels. And actually it is pretty much gone already! It is something that can stick around on someone for years!

Matt just said God put a little pea on her back to remind us of what a sweet pea she is!! How cute is that!!!

Our Christmas was great! Helps that you have a great baby around that sleeps most of the time and in chunks of 4 hours! Matt made a nice dinner for us on Christmas Eve; Christmas day we went to Mom and Dad G's house for a great dinner, then Monday my family came down! Makenzie did great with all the attention!



At her two week appt she grew another 2 inches!!! In 2 weeks 2 inches!! Crazy! And is back above her birth weight weighing in at 8lb 4 oz! And we no longer have to wake her up in the middle of the night to eat! But we are pretty much on the same schedule... she just wakes up maybe 10 mins after we would have set the alarm :0)

Okay.... Baby is hungry! I will continue later!! Now that I'm semi caught up it's time to get behind again! :0)

I think I may have Abs by time I'm done with this!!

Well contractions have come back today.... some strong... some not. They are very similar to the ones that I had last Friday, but they weren't this hard all day! So maybe now that we have scheduled to be induced she will decide to come??

After my Dr's appt today we learned that I'm still barely progressing. I've thinned another 10% and dialated another 1/2 cm.... whoopee!! They did do another ultrasound showing that the baby has plenty of amniotic fluid, so that's not something to be worried about. The ultrasound also showed the baby measuring 8 pounds 8 oz! (Give or take a half lb) We headed back up to the birthing center to be monitored once again... this time there were babies in the nursery!!!! What fun to see.

I spent just under an hour hooked up to the monitor.... baby was well... contractions were consistent :0) Boy that's just annoying! The nurse kept coming in saying how ya doing?? Looks like your having a lot of contractions! We had the same nurse both times we have been in now, what a great lady!! Definitely shocked at the amt of contractions and the lack of progression :0(

So we go in Sunday night for them to start the inducing process by giving me an oral something that is suppose to get my cervix moving. Then Monday morning at 6 they will start the IV and the inducing begins. Right on Lindsay's birthday!! Happy Birthday here's a niece!!

Once again, after the Dr's we headed to Grandma and Grandpa's for a quick lunch! MMmmmm!! I had been craving bolonga and cheese! And that's what I got! Along with a big scoop of Mackinaw Island Fudge! Figured it was a good time to splurge since this was going to be my last lunch visit for awhile!

Are We There Yet???

What an exciting couple of days it has been for us!! Thursday night I had contractions start, leaving us with no sleep :0) By Friday morning I said that we were going to head into Zeeland and figure out what's going on! All of our bags were packed so we were good to go. I was having contractions every 5 mins, but still feeling pretty good! (Unfortunately too good!!)

We went to the Dr's first to find out that I'm only dialated to 1, which is what I was two weeks prior... so no progress was made there... but I had thinned down to 50%. So he sent me over to the hospital to hook me up to all the monitors for a few hours to see if any progress is made! I was totally not in the mood to hear him say that he will probably send me home. After being up all night and totally uncomfortable... ya no.

After we got situated in the room we noticed that I was getting contractions 2-3 mins apart! At that point we were like holy smokes we aren't going to be going home and we're gonna have a baby!! Wrong! Dr comes in a few hrs later.... rechecks me... no progress. He sends us home with the good news that this could last for days! Yikes!

So this is day 3 and the contractions slowed down by Friday night, thank goodness! Talk about wearing on you. I don't think Matt and I have ever been thru that kind of mental exhaustion! By Friday night we were both in tears and mentally and physically exhausted.

Now that the contractions are farther apart they come with a bit more umph than before. Hopefully it means that it is making things progress! When I'm up and around the contractions come more frequently, so the Dr says to lay low so I don't use up all my energy on this false labor.

My parents came down last night with some delicious ribs!! That was a nice distraction and good food! Mom made a bunch of hair accessories for baby Molly too... she is going to be looking good!! So thanks for dinner guys!!

Well here's an update over the last month!

November started with my mom and sisters throwing a great baby shower! What fun, good food, and great gifts! Good company too!!

Mom made a yummy pumpkin cake!

Here are some of the gifts.... this was before everyone was there even!

Mid November the girls at work gave me another baby shower! A Fiesta Party!! Wow what a fun Idea!! I walk in and all these girls are sitting around the table with mustaches stuck under there nose!! Too funny! They stuck one on me and we started taking pictures!



After a few pics they sent me outside to take out a Chili Pinata filled with all sorts of baby stuff!

Then we had a whole buffet of Mexican food to chow on! And we are eaters!!!

A lot of people from Metro all went in on all my gifts so we hit the jackpot!!! We have gotten so much stuff from all of our family and friends!! It really makes us greatful for everyone we know and everyone's generosity!!


Thanksgiving weekend we headed over to the Trestle Stop in Hamilton for our pre-Christmas Tree cutting breakfast!! We met the family there then headed over to Leber Farms!



Boy was this interesting... by time I'm off the hayride my husband is off nowhere to be seen!! Finally I see him and Brian running between trees.... boys will be boys right? So I start picking my trees out (which none of them were good enough for Matt!).

We also finished up with the baby's room. We put up stuff on the walls, clothes washed and put away! Crib is all set and waiting!!
