Christmas Knockout Continued… OUR CHRISTMAS!

By Christmas Eve, we were all getting pretty cranky.  Makenzie was working on feeling better, Matt was still pretty out, and I was plain exhausted dealing with the family, holidays, and being sick myself.  We had a very low key day.  Made another batch of sugar cookies, that Makenzie and I frosted especially for Santa and that was the extent of our day.

Makenzie playing with playdough while I made the cookies!  I didn't want germs in there!
(Although, we "may" have had some chunks of playdough in the cookie dough...
not to worry {those of you that got cookies from us} playdough is edible!!)
Christmas Eve evening after dinner, the girls had one gift that they could open, which was some Christmas Jammies!  I was really hoping for matching jams, but that just didn’t happen.  Close tho.

That night, we put Santa’s cookies out….

And then the questions and anxiety came!  Boy, we totally didn’t expect this!
“I don’t want Santa to come.”  “He’s coming in MY HOUSE?”  “How?”  “Are you sure he won’t come in a my room?”  “I don’t want him a land on our roof.  I will be angry if he knocks my tars down.” {Glow in the dark stars on her ceiling} “When will he be here?”  LOL!  Holy cow!  Wow.  Until she asked these questions, I didn’t think about how scary it would be having a big fat hairy man in our house that has flying deer that will be on our roof!   Guess I was focused on the gifts as a kid!
Even though she seemed quite uncertain about all of that, she fell asleep VERY quickly.  Mamma and Daddy were thankful because we were exhausted and headed to bed soon after.
Christmas morning, Santa had come, set up a little Christmas tree for us (Our Christmas tree was in our living room and the fireplace is in the family room) and had a few gifts for each girl under it.  Neither of the girls were interested in pictures, or really, the gifts!  “I just want to eat this cookie first Mom.”  So Santa didn’t finish the cookies and Makenzie couldn’t take her eyes off of them or think about anything else until she ate them!  Ha!!

So we made a deal.  You smile for a picture… You get a cookie!

A deals a deal!
This girl picks cookies over gifts!  Crazy!

Excited… can’t you tell??

Onto Gifts!

Surprising find in Matt’s stocking!  (Someone snuck into our house and put coal in his stocking!!  Haha,  I didn’t do it!)

Knockin' Christmas OUT!

Let's see if I can do this in one post!!  We had 5 different Christmas parties to go to...one we rescheduled (because we were all sick) and the other we skipped (yes, because we were sick).  Bummer time of year to get sick.  Matt had taken vacation over the holiday and unfortunately he ended up getting sick.  Like there were a few days where he was down and out sick. Got Makenzie into the Dr's the day before Christmas Eve to find her cold had turned into an ear infection then headed to Walgreens where I spent $100 (Yes Matt, this is probably the first time seeing or hearing about that. :-S  Just ignore it Babe!).

Our  My Christmas last year pretty much just sucked.  I was 9 weeks pregnant... had morning sickness and a HORRIBLE sinus infection that the DR's told me the only thing I could take was tylonal... I was down and out for two weeks.  Last year was a blur.  Did NOT DID NOT want that to be this year.  Hence the Walgreens buyout!

Our first party was with Matt's Mom's side of the family!  SO many great grandkiddies!  Love seeing that.  We were missing a few kiddo's, but here is the rest of the clan with Grandma!
Madison is on Grandma and Makenzie is down in front!
2012's pic!  Look at the change in Makenzie!!  Pink and green in front!
We are pretty good about making sure Grandma has a baby to hold each year!

Our second party was with my mom's side of the family at my aunt's house.  There are only two kids, my two, so of course, they got spoiled!!  And all eyes were on them that night!
Madison meeting Uncle Bob's Santa named "Ho"
(Thank you Miss Makenzie, who called every man with a white beard a "Ho" all last winter.)

Close up!  She totally thinks my uncle is nuts!

Opening T-Ball!  Yes we have played LOTS of that already,
even tho I was saving it for summer.  We have been out
in our snowsuits playing T-ball!

First Sleeping Bag!  Comes with a pillow attached!  Genius!  Thanks Great Grandma!

Aunt Tina reading Makenzie's bday card.

Typical Kristi look :-)  Yes, Madison is eating paper!

We DID let the Cat out of the bag at the party!!
Haha,  We did NOT put him in the bag... we found him there.
Here is a little Christmas Random:
My little chef and I were in the kitchen a LOT!

So yummy in my tummy!!

Sick Matt snuggling with Madison before bed.  See all the snow outside!?!?
DEFINITELY a white Christmas this year!
Okay, that's all for now!  My babies are up, nap time is done, back at it!  Adios!

Next post coming next month!  (Haha, joking, but you never know......)

Happy 3rd Birthday, Makenzie!

Makenzie's birthday was Monday the 16th of December!  We were hoping that Matt could take the day off or come home early to get out and do "fun" things... but he was absolutely swamped at work.  That is okay!  Makenzie, Madison and I made the best out of the day and Daddy joined in later!!

After waking up and finding Deer (our elf) had blown up balloons and had them sitting outside her door, she brought him right to the time out corner.  Hmm.... sorry buddy!

Moving on, we started the day off right with some pancakes and bacon!!
(so not happy here having to pause for a picture before digging in.  BTW... this girl ate 2x as many pancakes as me!!!!)

We played the rest of the morning until Nina & Pop surprised Makenzie by coming over with a few gifts!!

Rain coat!

The girls listening to Nina read Makenzie's new book.

She had a little quiet time.

"Tee" Time. (TV)

Then outdoors we went to play!

She loves Tinkerbell, so we decided to have a Tinkerbell birthday :-)
And out she went with the Tinkerbell wings!

Then Daddy came home, so we immedietely dug into cake and ice cream!!
Are they not the greatest!?!?

LOUD!!!

Make a wish!

Makenzie's Tinkerbell cake with her Blue Moon ice cream!
Then we made Makenzie's Birthday dinner!  Burgers, fries & applesauce!  (All her picking!)

Time for gifts!

And then the camera died...
She got a little train set, purple polka-dotted flannel sheets for her bed, scissors, BIG book, stickers and lots of cards!

It sure was a fun day.  We did what she wanted ALL day and it was just FUN.  All day long she kept saying how excited and happy she was... precious!  Soon after we put her to bed I fell asleep on the couch nursing Madison.  It is exhausting keeping up with a two THREE YEAR OLD!!

The Rest of Elf on a Shelf

Our Elf slowed down after 15 days.... I don't think he was feeling the love.  Most of the time I would have to go searching for him because Makenzie didn't want to go find him!  LOL!  And when I did find him she would put him in the corner... a LOT, because Makenzie said that he got into a lot of trouble.  But here is the rest of the pics that I remembered to take while "Deer" stayed with us....

Blowing balloons up for the Birthday Girl!!

{Fuzzy I know!} Waving from the corner!!

Deer must have been chatting with Santa, while someone was sleeping!

Deer spent the last night he was with us cuddled up in the nativity scene and then Christmas Eve Santa brought him back to the North Pole.  And he was going to be rushed to the doctor!  I guess Makenzie wanted to make sure he remembered her because she decided to yank part of his leg off.  Opps!  Sorry fella!
