HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!!

Today is the day kids have been waiting for ALL month!!!  I've been waiting too!!!  I LOVE seeing everyone all dressed up and seeing all the creative costumes people come up with.

Makenzie's costume is ALMOST ready.  We are reusing a costume that I made for her in September at a Toddler's Halloween Camping trip.  It got a little mangled so while she's napping, I will fix it!

Matt's costume is ready to go!!  He was even practicing how this guy talks last night.  OMG... talk about FUNNY!!!!  He does it SOOOO good too!!  Haha.

My costume is in progress.... I don't think there is a whole lot to it.  Most of it is making my hair look a certain way.  My mom came over this morning, so I figured while she had Makenzie entertained I would play with my hair and see if I can get it going.  First try = Success!!  That was a good thing and bad thing.  Good, because I don't want to hassle with it later and have it not work out.  Bad,  I kinda look like a fruit loop and have some errands to run today.  I suppose today is the day to look like a fruit loop and have it be A-Okay!

Last night Makenzie and I finished making the Halloween cards that she was busy finger painting yesterday.  What fun.  We drew grass and sunshine on each card and I think she did really good for a 22 month old!!  When she was drawing the eyes, nose and mouth on the pumpkin the marker STARTED in the right spot.  :0)  Little things Momma adores, but bores everyone else!!

We even made our own envelopes to mail the cards into!!  I'll post pictures later, but they turned out really neat.  I made them out of her coloring pages!  Sometimes I impress myself with the ideas I come up with!

Well, everyone have a SAFE and FUN Halloween!!!

Sandy Sleety Tuesday

I sure am glad I got all my grocery shopping done yesterday!!  Today in West MI it is NASTY!!  Reminents of Hurricane Sandy are in town making for a windy, rainy, sleety, cold day.  I had to run out a few mins ago because our garbage kirby thingy (what ARE those things called?!?)  was knocked over and blown into the road.  My face got pelted by the sleet. Thankfully, we aren't in Vermont where they were just hammered with snow.  YIKES.  A tad too early for that.

Workout update!  I am on day 7 of 28!!! So far so good.  I even got Matt to do it with me last night :0)  Hehe!  I had him do yoga with me and for those of you that have never done yoga...don't judge!  I dare you to try it and then tell me how you feel.  Matt didn't realize that it can be a pretty intense workout, but he learned quickly last night.

Makenzie's diapers!  We are still rockin' and rollin'!!!  Hip Hip Hooray!!!

Makenzie's cranky again.  (No she would not look at the camera.)  She's been asking for Matt all morning. I let her talk to him on the phone twice, and kept her busy painting pumpkins, coloring, reading.  When it came time for lunch she didn't want to eat anything only wanted to eat yogurt and nothing else.  We worked on this eating thing for about a half hour and I finally asked her if she wanted to go to bed (she had been yawning all morning).  She said night night, so off to bed we went.  This was an hour ago now and I still hear her playing in there.  Yup... not going to be a good night... haha!  AHHH!!! These are like days when your boss is mad at you and you can't do anything right, even after you've done a bunch of different stuff you are still wrong.  BUT... at least when you are at work you get paid for it.

I better go get my stuff done... I think she'll be wanting out of the crib any min now.  At least I have dinner all made and waiting to be thrown in the oven!  So I don't have to worry about cooking.  Just keeping Miss. Makenzie happy!  Oh!  She said her name today  "Shenzie!"  Close!

Hunting Widow's Weekend!

Well, it is definitely that time of year again for all of us wives married to hunters!  Men are gone most of the weekend hunting leaving the wives at home with the kids.  Leaving little time for the wives and kids to spend time with Daddy/ Husband.  Normally it's not that bad!  Gives me a chance to do things with Makenzie one on one in the evenings when normally she's all about Daddy.  Yeah this past weekend was a WHOLE different story....

Friday night, right after work, Matt headed out to go hunting.  Makenzie played while I made a yummy stir fry for dinner.

After dinner I decided it would be fun to make pumpkin bars!!  Tis the season!!  So my little chef (who normally sits on a stool) pushed a chair over and climbed up.  She'd stir the flour and sugar around in her bowl while I made the pumpkin bars in mine.  Makenzie definitely didn't like the taste of the pumpkin, but definitely like the batter all mixed up :0)

Then our night went downhill.... while licking the better she stepped off the chair.  Luckly I was close enough to where I caught her, but it was enough to upset her and cry.  Then when I took the better away from her you would have thought she was dying.  The screaming and the crying coming out of that girl!!!  WOW.  So then I go to distract her with her favorite toys, books, music.... crayons.... mama dancing... boping on the bed!  NOTHING stopped her angry cry.  She was MAD.  So into pj's she went and we sat in front of the tv (yes that distracted her!) on opposite sides of the couch waiting for Daddy to come home to put her to bed.

Saturday morning she woke up getting ready for the day!!
She had her pj's all unzipped, and boy was she proud!  We headed off to my cousins for a 31 Party and then to a craft fair.  Came home for some lunch, saw daddy for a few mins and off for a nap she went!

And then nap time was done.... Daddy was gone hunting.... and Makenzie was NOT happy.  It took me an hour and a half to make dinner and get it on the table for us to eat, which she then wouldn't eat.  Everything I did to try to make her happy... made her even madder.  I couldn't win for losing!  So... back into pj's and off to bed.  Yay for hunting season!

Makenzie trying to mooch Grandma's Pumpkin Bar!
Sunday was a nice day though.  Matt was home all day and we had my Grandparents over for Turkey Soup.  My grandpa is one of Makenzie's favorite playmates... so she was VERY happy!

Keeping my fingers crossed for a change in attitude by next weekend.

Meals, Menu, List

Every 2 weeks my goal is to make a 2 week menu, then grocery list, then do all the grocery shopping ONCE so I don't have to be at the grocery store every week.  I started doing this awhile ago and was totally shocked at how much my grocery bill actually went down!!  It takes a LOT of time tho.

A. I'm not good at coming up with meals.... I don't like eating the same meals all the time, so most of the meals I make are new recipes.  Which means you have to spend time finding all these recipes and so on.
B. Making a grocery list off all the ingredients for about 14 days worth of meals... takes awhile
C. Finding coupons and making sure they make it to the store with you!
D. Then I remake my list so it's arranged that the beginning of the list is at the front of the store and I work my way back.

I probably waste a TON of time doing all this.... but it's become routine.  What's not in the routine is Matt not being around... there's a few nights he won't be home and I'm at a complete loss as to what to do for dinner!!!!  It would be nice to do a quick easy meal (because Makenzie turns into a Monster around dinner time, especially when Daddy's not home).  But I'm at a loss as to what that would be.....

Well, I have got Turkey Soup simmering on the stove, bread in the breadmaker!  My Grandma and Grandpa will be over for dinner, so I better scoot so I can go finish up "The List"!

Halloween Costumes!

Spent some time... okay almost 2 hours... at Hobby Lobby today!!  My mom, Makenzie and I had nothing better to do than wander the greatest store EVER.  Plus I needed to get some supplies to make Matt and I's (is that proper?) costume.
I think I got every thing that I need for Matt's costume... but mine might need a little help.  We'll see... I'll start with his and then work on mine.

We are dressing up as a TV couple.
Both wear glasses.
The husband loves grilling, and works in the business.
The wife is pretty outspoken.
They have one son.

Haha!  You'll never guess :-)  My father in law could tho!!

Toddler's Diarrhea

Toddler's Diarrhea (Syndrome) is something I never heard about until about 3-4 months ago.  This past March Makenzie started having almost constant diarrhea.  We had thought that it was just a stomach bug at first, but then became worried it was something more.  A Dr's appt was made and from there we were sent for bloodwork and stool samples to try and figure out exactly what was going on.

The good thing about this is that she didn't seem to bothered by it (she was bothered by the extremely horrible diaper rash that you can't treat because she was constantly going!), but this mama was!  I use reusable diapers and when you get nasty diapers it gets really messy really fast.  Not to mention that more times than not the diaper couldn't hold it all so when she did go it was ALMOST a throw her in the bath and start over kind of thing.

We got the test results back and everything came back negative.  So the Dr said to take her off milk for a week and see what happens.... nothing really changed.  So then the Dr said try 2-4 weeks.  Alrighty!  Now we took her sippy cups of milk away, but didn't take out the rest of dairy.  And we DID see a decrease in the amount of times she went, BUT it was still messy.

I threw milk back into the diet... MISTAKE!  Wow oh WOW!  We are now into June with this problem and I was so bothered by not knowing what the deal is here, and exhausted with this mess.  POOR MAKENZIE.  I didn't feel like the Dr was too helpful or really concerned due to the fact that Makenzie is growing on track and doesn't seem to be bothered by everything.

I took Makenzie off dairy completely.... lactose free milk, no cheese, no dairy.  After that I tell you, I feel for anyone that has a food allergy!!  When I'd make my menu's I had to pick out recipes that didn't use milk or cheese.  Pain.

Taking her off of dairy seemed to help.... she wasn't going as often, diapers weren't as horrid... but STILL not regular.

I couldn't figure it out... if she is lactose intolerant then why isn't it back to normal yet!?!?

September.  I called the Dr- yet again- refusing to make an appointment because I was tired of paying to have her not really heAR me!  Then the Dr mentioned Toddler's Diarrhea Syndrome, and told me to give her fatty foods (all the fatty foods I wanted to give her!  Right... then how do you take it away!?!?)  There is NOT a lot of information about it but here's what I know:

Cause: unknown (one Dr says it's from a bad diet--which Makenzie didn't have)
Treatment: no remedy, but some Dr's say you can tweak their diet to help improve things
Length: can start at 6 months and last until 5 years (until children are out of their "toddler" stage)
Diet: increase fat, zip juice, decrease fruit

So Matt and I sat down with what little info that we had and made a new "diet" for Makenzie!
Before: Soy milk, no dairy, OJ in the am (diluted), 2 Servs of Fruit
Now: Vitamin D Lactose Free Milk, OJ in the am (diluted), 1 Serving of Fruit, Yogurt, Cheese (if mixed in with a casserole)

We have been on this diet for a week and a half and I am jumping for joy!!!  We went from her going a few times a day to going once every 2 days.  (And they are pretty close to being normal.)  Changing her diapers has been SOOOOO much better!  I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we've got it figured out!

Our Hump Day

It was SUCH a beautiful day yesterday!!  (And is today TOO!)  We started things out by heading over to story time at the library.  There were a LOT of kiddies there and I think it intimidated Makenzie a bit.  She was unusually shy.  Once we were done with that, we watched the turtles (Cra-cra's... no clue how she get's that out of turtle... but she does!) and the "fisheys" before we took off.

I had to make a quick stop at the grocery store and on the way we decided to stop and see Grandma at work!  Makenzie knew exactly where we were when we were in the parking lot.  I can't believe how much she is learning.

So after groceries (where we looked at fish again) we surprised Great Grandma and Grandpa with a visit!  We ate our baloney sandwiches together and then Makenzie played with one of her favorite playmates... Great Grandpa!

During her nap time I decided to take a stab at more landscaping.  Some of the bushes have gotten totally out of control so I took some of those out and was happy to be able to see our house :0)  It covered up a LOT of the back of the house.

Grilled steaks, a nice walk with the fam, and reading in bed finished our evening!

Day 3 of 28 Days

Somewhere I heard that it takes 28 days to make a new habit.  Not sure if that's a fact, but it's something that I turn to quite often and it works for me.  BUT if you skip a day you have to start your 28 day count all over :0)  So really, if you stick to it.... you'll get it... if it takes you 28 days or 365!  But normally by the 28 day mark I don't think about it anymore.  I just do it!

Today I am on day 3 of working out for at LEAST a half hour a day!  I'm really hoping to stick to it and really hoping that it helps with the aches and pains I have had lately.  A good chunk of September I had visited a chiropractor multiple times a week to help with neck and shoulder pain that I had going on for quite awhile.  After a few x-rays the Dr had said that the muscles in my neck and upper back have been strained so much it has distorted my spine.

Bottom line: Tiny woman + Big baby = Havoc on my body

I don't feel like I lift Makenzie a lot, but I suppose when I do it's a lot of lifting and swinging.... putting her into the car seat in a truck, grocery cart, crib, changing table.  I don't feel like that's hard work when I do it, but I suppose that's all adding into the play on my body.  So I decided to throw in a workout plan and see if that helps me out!! (Just something simple that I can do at home and possibly in increments thru-out the day depending on kid#1!)  I did yoga a lot when I was prego so I'm going to throw that in the mix with some pilates, getting outside for walks, and cardio a few times a week totaling in 5-6 days a week!

Makenzie has enjoyed trying to do some of these workouts with me, and I must admit it's a lot of fun with her!!  Today I found a pilates video on youtube.com that worked my abs, back, and neck.  O-U-C-H.

I feel it!!!!!

Baby Mama!

As I was doing laundry yesterday Makenzie came out of her bedroom saying her new favorite word:
"See?  See? See?  Mama... see??"
And this is what I saw:

Makenzie had her baby and her baby kitty in a basket.  Once she showed me, she then put it on her arm (how I carry my purse) and again said... "See Mama?? See??"  Haha.  It was too cute!  She then set the basket down and left walking towards her bedroom.  I hear her grunting and go and see what's going on.  Makenzie was pulling her rocking chair out of her room.  I pick it up for her and she points to set it down next to the basket in the dining room.  Then she goes to her toy box and starts heaving stuff out of it.  (This girl was on a mission!)  I go over there to help and she says "Eat!".  Okay.... how about a (toy) bottle?  She takes it and goes and sits in her rocking chair, picks up the baby and does this....

Is that not the cutest thing!?!?!?  LOVE that I am able to stay home and see her doing this kind of stuff all day!!  Today while she was eating lunch I got our dinner (that was on the menu for Friday night... Balsamic Chicken) going in the crockpot.  I was slicing an onion and Makenzie said she wanted one.  Yuck.  So I get the camera ready (Muhahaha), give her the onion, and hit record!  No, I don't think she liked it.

Here's what our dinner looks like!!!  It's making the house smell DELICIOUS!!!

Fun Fall Weekend

The weekend started with a tired Mama (from getting over my cold) and a whiny Daddy (Yes Matt got sick too).  Instead of making Balsamic Chicken and noodles, which was on the menu for Friday night, I decided I was too tired to do anything.  Off we went to pick up some pizza from Hungry Howie's.  (We're usually only Jet's Pizza eaters, but we decided to try something different.... next time we'll go back to Jet's!)

We finished Friday off with dancing the night away to Toddler's Tunes!  (Romantic, eh?)  Makenzie loves to dance and we had on the tunes for her and she kept yanking at Matt and I so we could dance... so we did!!  Matt and I were both exhausted, but it was FUN.  I think one of these nights we should go outside to make sure we can't see thru the blinds!!  This dancing seems to be an almost every night ritual :0)

Saturday night we headed over to Matt's parent's house for a visit to their pumpkin patch!!  All the grandkids had such a fun time picking out their pumpkins and carving them.  This family is just growing and growing.  I had to get a shot of the dinner table all set up for all of us!  We had a great dinner and then carved the pumpkins and of course (thank you Makenzie) danced.

"Yikes!!!  I don't know what is in here
but Grandpa!!!  Pick me UP!!!"

When Grandma came out of the bathroom looking like
that... Makenzie didn't know WHAT TO DO!!!
So she stared at her for a good 5 mins :0)
Makenzie helping Auntie Mandi feed her new baby cousin!

While we were there a bunch of turkeys ran thru the yard.  All the kids gathered around to see while Matt and his brother decided they would run after the bunch to "catch" one!  (Which I have on video!!)  They didn't come close, but it was sure funnnnyyyy!!!  Once they were gone Makenzie just sat there looking out the window for the rkeeee :0)  I told her they went to bed and that we were going to eat a turkey for dinner tomorrow night.  Her response cracked me up....  Ohhhh NOOOOO!!!  I forget that she understands pretty much everything we say!

Hehe, our turkey Sunday night was delicious, we had some great company!  I love to make turkey and love that we get so much for leftovers that I can freeze it and make other meals out of it.  Win-Win!

Last fall --> this fall

Then...

 Now....

Incredible!

FINALLY FRIDAY!!

Whew this has been a long week.  Makenzie came down with a cold Sunday morning and mine started Monday night.
Not feeling well, sitting on Ruger...(Sorry Buddy!!)
Then Tuesday and Wednesday nights were pretty sleepless nights between Makenzie and I.  So here we are on Friday!  Fridays are always fun and always put you in a good mood!  We both had a good nights sleep and a good day so far... as for Matt... well now he's got our cold.

After my last post, I had felt guilty about not taking advantage of Makenzie taking a nap and me sitting on the computer blogging when I had a big to do list.  So I got up from the computer and decided to go mop the floor when I could her Makenzie crying (not a normal way for her to wake up).  So I go in there and she wants up and wanted to cuddle.  She should have gone back to sleep... she has barely slept an hour (norm 2 hr nap) and I could tell she was STILL tired, and probably not feeling well.  20 mins later I decided to put Curious George on while I mopped the floor.  When I picked her up to go to the couch this is what fell off of us!!  Notice anything wrong with this picture??

The tip is missing!!  So then I panic that she's choking on it.  Mind you... she sat ON MY LAP for 20 mins... breathing.  Why I would think then that she's choking is beyond me!  I ended up finding the tip in her crib.  So now we are down to 1 paci and I tell ya if we lose track of that one all you know what will break lose!

I mopped.  Not once.  But twice.  Grrr.  I've gone thru two different cleaners now and each one leaves the floor with a tacky residue on it.  Even after the 2nd time of just water.

I have slowly been chugging away at my list!!

Farmer's Market
Drop dug up plants off at my cousins
Library We went to a new library today!!  Makenzie is in her glory with books and within 5 seconds had 7    books in a pile on the floor and was running in the opposite direction.  I'd say she had fun!
Pay Bills Yup
Sweep and Mop Floor
Vaccum.... yeah... later
Clean baths... yeah.... this is on my to do during nap time... meaning I need to hurry up and finish this!
Make muffins  Makenzie and I made muffins yesterday!!  I LOVE having her help me in the kitchen and she loves it too!  She'll pour stuff into the bowl and help stir.  It makes things quite messy, but worth it.  Blueberry and Banana muffins.  I put most of them in saran wrap and froze them.  That way when Matt wants one for breakfast he can pull it out of the freezer take it to work and nuke it for a few secs!
It was PJ day yesterday! (FYI...the back splash is not finished!)

Plant tulip bulbs All of my fall landscaping projects are D-O-N-E!

I also got our family pictures done!  I can't believe how good they turned out... especially for doing them myself!  Here's a peak!

One of the pictures I sent into Meijer's and blew up to 12in x 18in.  I wasn't sure how that would turn out because my camera isn't a professional grade.  But it turned out PERFECT!!  I got a nice big frame for it and am impatiently waiting for my hubby to get home and hang it up!!  I had a vision of what I wanted and it is exactly that!  Love it when things just work out.

Our Unproductive Day

Today is one of those days where I wanted to get a TON of stuff done and I've only been able to cross off two things on that list. Matt will be home in an hour and a half and what usually happens is that last half hour I run around completing my list so it makes it look like I was busy :0) Thankfully he doesn't read this... or I'd be in trouble!

Here was my list:
Farmer's Market
Drop dug up plants off at my cousins
Library
Pay Bills
Sweep and Mop Floor
Vaccum
Clean baths
Make muffins
Plant tulip bulbs

Here's what I did:
Farmer's market, plant drop off, and swept.  I should totally be mopping the floor right now because Makenzie is asleep and I wouldn't have to worry about her slipping and sliding all over.  AND the weather is so nice that I have windows open so it would dry up pretty quick.  Eh.

Makenzie's 2 yr molars are working their way thru and we are both fighting colds (and had a rough night) so my motivation is out the window.  Yet I'm bored.

While we were outside playing I set up an area for us to attempt to take some fam pics tonight, since the weather is so nice!  I LOVE fall pictures, the colors are great.  So I raked a pile of leaves (Oh!  I should add that to my completed list!) with the thought of us laying in the leaves with the green pine tree behind us.  Then... IF it turns out I'd like to blow it up and put it on the wall in our dining room.

Look at that bald baby!!!  Today here hair (not that there is much, but some!) was blowing all over the place!!

Wish us luck!  I hear there is rain coming.... go figure :0)

Daddy's Deer!

What a nice weekend we had!  Matt took last Friday off and had a half day of work on Thursday, so for Makenzie and I our weekend started Thursday morning!!  We headed over to Grandma's work to pick up some peppers Grandpa had gotten for us and then headed to the Dr's office to get our flu shots.

Our Dr's office is attached to the hospital, and when we pulled in I could see that there was a helicopter about ready to take off.  How cool!!!  So I quick drive over there, somehow I ended up a little closer than what I had wanted to, and watched the helicopter take off.  Oh did Makenzie think that was cool!  It was loud and it was CLOSE!  Thankfully the helicopter took off just fine, and we found a parking spot and moseyed into the Dr's.

I was a little nervous how this was going to go... they had told me to come a half hour early to register (new program).  Being in a waiting room and trying to keep your child entertained and quiet stresses me out!!  It did take us a half hour, Makenzie was great!  Once we were registered they got us right in and out.  (Deep breath!  Let the vacation begin!)

We headed home, finished packing, and headed up north so Matt could go hunting with my dad.  So while Matt went hunting Makenzie and I unpacked and made ourselves at home in the Man Cave.  (Man Cave.... I came prepared with my cleaners and spent the first hr and a half cleaning!!)  By time Matt came back from hunting I was exhausted from cleaning, unpacking, cooking and chasing Makenzie around.  She is so curious and touches and taste EVERYTHING!!  I'm a germ-a-phobe and that doesn't fly for me.

Friday morning went much better.  (Besides the fact that Makenzie got up an hour and a half earlier than normal when her mama hardly slept!)  We got up, watched the sun come up and could see little ice balls all over the ground!!  It was COLD out!  As we were eating our breakfast we got a call from Matt to say that he had shot a deer!  That's exciting stuff at our house.  Last fall Matt went months without seeing any deer so for him to get one already was exciting and a little bit of a relief because he knows that will put meat in our freezer!

So out the three of us went.

34 degrees but sunny.

It... was... cold!!!  We had fun taking Makenzie out in the woods and having her help find the deer.  Once we found it she was really excited... then like... wait why is it just sitting here!?!?  Then she didn't want to be by it, yet she didn't want to lose sight of it :0)
Very curious about the Deer's Ears!!

Love you Daddy!
That night the rest of the family came up!  My sister and I made dinner for everyone and just enjoyed each other's company.  Saturday morning we had a great big breakfast Matt made and just hung out inside while it POURED outside.  ALL day!  Makenzie had lots of fun getting all sorts of attention from everyone and even made a new friend!  We decided to leave after dinner Saturday night so we could unpack that night and worry about getting the deer processed on Sunday.  (And get a good nights sleep!)

Sunday afternoon we headed over to Matt's parents where the boys worked on the deer while the ladies tended to the kiddies!!  I got to hold my baby nephew and give him some snuggles too before we headed for home!!  We've been so busy I haven't got my fix of him yet since he's been born!!

After dinner we cheered the Tigers onto another WIN!!!!!!  While playing zoo with Makenzie :0)

Sold!! Move!! Sold!! Move!!

Boy Oh Boy!  It has been awhile!!  I love blogging and have not been up to it this year.  Boooo.... I just reread my entire blog and it makes me sad that I didn't keep it up.  It's so fun to see our family grow!!  Makenzie has grown up so much and I can hardly believe that was her in these pics just a year ago... now almost two!!

Let me fill you in on our lives over the past 15 months or so.  I will flash back and update on the 15 months I missed, but here is a quick summary!

Last winter we had our house up for sale... it was for sale for 9 months before a buyer came along.  Talk about STRESSFUL!!  Having a baby in the house that needs to be nursed every few hours and keeping the house spick and span and showing the house yourself (we sold for sale by owner) what a pain!  Then when Makenzie got mobile keeping the house clean got even harder.  Early Feb we accepted an offer and had to move out mid March.  So those first few months were busy selling, looking, packing, oh yeah... and being a mom and wife!
Moving day.  Bittersweet!
We didn't find a new house to buy so most of our "home" went into a storage unit and in we moved to my husbands parents house!  Poor them... empty nesters and then here comes a fam of 3 with 2 animals!!  (What they were thinking I'll never know!!)  During that time I quit my job at the Toyota dealership, while Matt stayed where he was working.  The commute ended up being pretty much the same, so it did work out!!  The hardest part of moving was leaving behind the worlds greatest babysitters that watched Makenzie when I worked every Friday.  That last day I swear Makenzie knew what was going on and she balled all night.  I cried too... what a horrible feeling.

After a few months of a lot of looking and deciding what exactly we wanted in our next house we put an offer on a new home.  Totally opposite of what we had in mind!!!  The house was fine, but the setting was a far cry from what we had before.  But we felt that that was where we were led to.  We got the keys to the house mid June and spent a whole month updating the house and working on it before we moved in.  Each morning I would get Makenzie up, take her to the house, play a bit, give her lunch and when she slept I would be painting, sanding, priming, tearing down... oh the work was endless.  Matt would come by after work and we'd pass him as we headed back to Mom and Dad's.  Makenzie was not thrilled with the house at all and absolutely hated being there.  Can't say that I blame her since she knew we were there to work.
New house!

Finally, we moved in mid July!  And realized that life here wasn't so bad. It wasn't what we had in mind, but it works for now.  We are in a subdivision... not our 5 acre or even 1 acre property with woods around us.  We have a grass field behind us and houses next to and in front of us.  Big difference from living on a golf course!

Makenzie now loves it here (after getting over having Grandma and Grandpa around all the time), there are kids everywhere and she has made a few new friends which she loves to play with.  AND each of our neighbors have a swing set that she can play on too.  There is lots to do here!

So that has taken up the better part of our year.  Makenzie has been growing like a weed.... has her daddy's genes that is for sure!  She has been in the 75th-90th percentile all year!  In March, April she started getting diarrhea.  It was horrible.  Non stop, every diaper change, smell the house up diarrhea.  At first we thought it was a bug, but it just never stopped.  We had dr's appointments lined up and bloodwork done, and nothing came back as signifying that something was wrong.  She still has it!!  Now 7 months later... it's not quite as frequent as it was when it first started, but it's an ongoing problem that we are trying to put a finger on.  I think the conclusion that we are at is that it is a syndrome called Toddler's Diarrhea.
This girl LOVES to dance!!  She was surprised when some lights came on and "danced" with her!!

Even though we spent a lot of time doing "house" stuff we still had a really good year.  Early in June she got to be a flower girl in my cousin's wedding, which was up at the Soo Locks.  We've got to see her cousins and gma's and gpa's a LOT now that we are in town.  We took her camping for the first time a few weeks ago to a Toddler's Halloween Party (what FUN that was!!).  She is a busy busy girl that is learning and talking SOOO much!  It amazes me how much she knows already.
Makenzie had a great weekend, but was scared out of her mind of these guys!!!

2 months from tomorrow and she'll be 2!!
